Feed Nova Scotia has a big job to do: They're trying to ensure that all Nova Scotians have access to nutritious food on a consistent basis. But Feed Nova Scotia also works to address the larger issues behind food insecurity.
The numbers around children are particularly troubling. Kids who don’t get a decent breakfast have more trouble concentrating in school. Students whose families struggle to make ends meet are less likely to pursue costly post secondary education. The odds are stacked against these kids, at no fault of their own.
We have been a proud supporter of Feed Nova Scotia for many years, donating over $100,000 including $25,000 to their capital campaign, in-kind promotions and matching donations and it continues to be our charity of choice during the holiday season.
It is a privilege and honour to help Feed Nova Scotia raise awareness of these challenging truths. And it’s our sincere hope that it moves those who are able to give of their time, money, and other resources to join the movement to end hunger once and for all.
